Cripps’ House Charity Overnight Row

A massive congratulations to the Cripps’ boys who took part in the Overnight Row last Friday and Saturday. Fuelled by masses of pizza, the boys rowed continuously from 6.30pm on Friday until 6.30am on Saturday morning. In total they rowed over 225km, which is the equivalent of rowing from Wellingborough to Minehead in Somerset. An incredible achievement. I couldn’t have been more proud of the 40+ pupils involved.

This is the major fundraising event for House, raising funds for local charity ‘Animals in Need‘. Thus far we have received donations just under £2000 – many thanks to those that have been so generous. If anybody is able to donate to this most deserving of charities, please follow the link below:

A special thanks to the staff who supported the event; your time is greatly appreciated. But most importantly, thanks to the boys. Just wow. In particular, those in Year 11 and Year 13 who are just about to commence their study leave but prioritised a night in school to participate in this event. Your commitment to Cripps’ and this event was simply stunning!! I really hope that the younger pupils from Years 8 & 9, all doing their first Overnight Row, enjoyed the experience and that they continue to get behind this event in the coming years so it continues to be a fixture on the Cripps’ calendar.
