The Autumn term is now in full swing in Garne’s, and the boys are excited to be back and are already busy with work and all our extracurricular activities. We welcome a host of new pupils into House for the first time, as well as Mr Watson, our Year 12 tutor, who made the summer transfer to join us from Platt’s.
This week we have had two major events. On Sunday we had our house chapel, and it was wonderful to see so many pupils and parents enjoying a thoughtful and reflective morning. Then on Tuesday this week we had our annual charity football tournament, where we all mix together, have some fun, play some reasonable football and raise some money for our house charity, the Cransley Hospice. We have supported this charity for many years and will never be able to repay them for all the love and care they gave to Mr Ramsden senior, a tutor of Garne’s for over 20 years.
Well done and congratulations to team Walker (purple team) for the overall win, and a special mention to Harry M for winning the Golden Boot with three incredible goals.
“Our charity football afternoon is my favourite event of the year. It brings us all together and makes us feel like we are a part of one huge family. It’s a great start to the year.” Year 11 pupil, Chris.
I wish good luck to our Year 11s for their upcoming trial exams and am looking forward to another positive and productive year together.
