Admissions

A world of opportunity

At Wellingborough School we provide children and young adults with a world of opportunity. Our main points of entry are Nursery, Reception, Years 3, 7 & Sixth Form. We also welcome new joiners at all entry points throughout the School, adding to the richness of our community.

In January 2025, Wellingborough School was inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the body approved by the Government for the inspection of independent schools. Click the image to view our ISI Inspection Report Highlights, or click the link below to view the ISI Report.

Pupils develop notably strong self-understanding and self-belief from an early stage, meeting the schools' stated aim to encourage pupils to discover their potential and to decide who they want to be. This is because of the focus given to encouraging self-confidence by the schools' leadership and the support provided by committed staff.

Admissions enquiry

We’d love to welcome your child to Wellingborough School. If you are interested in exploring options our warm and welcoming admissions team are here to help you.

Our main points of entry are Nursery, Reception, Years 3,7 and Sixth From. We also welcome new joiners at entry points throughout the school.

Please get in touch with Amanda or Jo, from our Admissions team to make your initial enquiry.

Registration

We encourage early registration with us, particularly for the key entry years and many families register a few years in advance of entry.

Registering will help us to keep you informed with the next stages of the admissions process, including any admissions-focused events at Wellingborough you may wish to attend and dates of relevant examinations.

Assessment

Pupils in Years 3-10 are required to sit an assessment. We will coordinate this so that your child can experience a taster day with their peers after they have sat the assessment.

We hold Entrance Assessment Days in November and December due to the large number of Year 7 registrations we receive. Students applying for Sixth Form are not required to sit an assessment but the offer of a place will depend on their GCSE Results.

Visit us

We are extremely proud of our pupils and staff and there is no comparison in meeting them and seeing our school in action. We encourage families to visit the school for open events, guided tours and taster days to get a sense of the school.

If you would like a personal tour of the School on a working day, please contact our Admissions Team on admissions@ or 01933 222427 and we will arrange it for you.
