Celebrating LAMDA Success

Wellingborough School pupils excelled in their recent LAMDA exams, with the majority awarded Distinctions for their performances.

We are delighted to share the fantastic achievements of our pupils in the recent LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations, taken during the summer term. These exams cover a range of disciplines, including Verse and Prose, Acting, and Speaking in Public. They offer students a unique opportunity to develop their performance skills, build confidence, and explore the power of spoken word.

At Wellingborough School, our average result across all exam levels was Distinction. This reflects the dedication, talent, and hard work of our students. Their commitment to the craft and enthusiasm for learning truly shone through in every performance.

Insights from Mrs Gemma Seaford

“In the summer term of last year, we had a number of students take Verse and Prose, Acting and Speaking in Public exams through the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). I am delighted to share the results with our school community. The lessons are a fabulous way to explore these areas in drama in a one-to-one setting. Each subject carries its own benefits and skill set, such as confidence in speaking to an audience, script exploration, understanding poetry and prose, and the techniques to perform.”

A Special Congratulations

A special congratulations goes to Grace, who achieved a Distinction with 87 marks in her Introductory Level 3 exam while on residential. Her remarkable accomplishment highlights the resilience and passion our pupils bring to every challenge.
