Wellingborough School kicked off the new academic year with the return of our much-loved Charity Colour Run.

This year’s event was held in aid of our newly chosen school charity, Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, and saw senior staff and pupils come together for a vibrant afternoon full of colour and energy.
Keeping with tradition, our headmaster typically runs with the first wave of pupils, which is made up of the Sixth Formers. However, this year, the newly appointed Head, Simon Hawkes, ran with every year group. A fantastic effort from Mr Hawkes, and it was great to see him so involved with the pupils.
The Colour Run has become a highlight in the school calendar, and this year was no exception. Pupils took part in three waves:
- Wave 1: Sixth Form students led the way, setting the tone and then supporting the younger year groups
- Wave 2: Years 7, 8 and 9 brought enthusiasm and colour to the course
- Wave 3: Years 10 and 11 closed the event with energy and spirit
There were several colour stations throughout the course. Participants were showered with vibrant powder, creating a happy and welcoming environment, a perfect start to the 2025 Michaelmas Term. Whether running, walking, or assisting at the stands, each pupil played a role. Staff also joined in, either taking part or helping to coordinate the event.
We are proud to support Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and look forward to a year of impactful fundraising and awareness-raising activities.
