My name is Hattie, and as a Year 10 GCSE Music student, I was lucky enough to take part in our trip to see Wicked the musical at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London last Friday.
It was a really entertaining and interesting experience. We were able to get some food and have a look around Covent Garden before heading to the theatre for the show.
Wicked was amazing. Throughout the performance, there were lots of different sounds, atmospheres and styles of music, which made it particularly interesting to experience as a Music student.
During the interval, our group visited the orchestra pit and spoke with the Musical Director. He talked to us about the different instruments used in the show, how the orchestra works together and his love of music. It was really interesting to see where the live music comes from and learn a little about what happens behind the scenes.
By the time we started our journey home, I was very tired after a long day, but it had been a brilliant trip and a great experience.
