House Sleepout Success
On the 13th of March, 41 pupils and 5 staff from Parker Steyne’s House took part in the annual House sleepout, this year raising funds for two separate charities, Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and The Daylight Centre (Wellingborough), with the aim of raising funds and awareness for those less fortunate than ourselves.
The evening began with some games of pool and table tennis in the house as well as a basketball tournament down in the sports hall. Pupils also enjoyed some down time just chatting with friends and making some new acquaintances with those from older/younger year groups.

At approximately 10:00pm we warmed up with some soup and a bread roll before bedding down in the top quad with our cardboard, roll mats and sleeping bags. Whilst the daytime temperatures last week were fairly mild, the nighttime temperature dropped as low as 2 degrees, making for some challenging conditions; some pupils even awoke to a layer of frost on their sleeping bags! With sunrise soon after 6:00am, we were (largely!) all up and about shortly after 6:30am and ready for some bacon rolls, juice and cereal before heading home to the luxury of a warm shower and a clean set of clothes!
It was an absolutely fantastic effort from everyone involved, and we have been blown away by the generosity and support received; thank you! Our fundraising total (at the end of this week) was just shy of £4,000; a huge thanks to all friends and family who have supported this event!
