Languages Spelling Bee Finals Success

This week saw the culmination of our Languages Spelling Bee with the finals for Years 7 & 8 taking place. The end-of-year competition has been running in lessons since half-term, and as a department we have been super impressed with the effort students have put into learning the spellings of words and revising their French and Spanish alphabets!

This is our third year for the competition, and we are delighted by the determination and drive that our finalists have shown to stand out and win the prize for each subject per year group. The finals were both tense affairs and very close in the end; we want to thank and congratulate each student for their participation.

In the end, our well-deserved winners were:

Year 7 French: Ruby F, who wins the Asterix Cup.

Year 7 Spanish: Archie B, who wins the Mafalda Cup.

Year 8 French: JJ D, who wins the Tintin Trophy.

Year 8 Spanish: Dylan C wins the Zipi y Zape Trophy.

Well done once again to our winners, who will be presented with their prizes at the Headmaster’s assembly on the last day of term.
