Wellingborough School Hosts Year 2 Football Festival

Wellingborough School was delighted to host its annual Community Year 2 Football Festival, welcoming pupils from eight visiting schools alongside three Wellingborough School teams for an afternoon of football.

Community Prefect George led the event with the support of a dedicated team of Sixth Form students. Together, they planned and delivered a programme of coaching sessions and matches. The festival created an environment where every child could develop their football skills and enjoy friendly competition.

Reflecting on the event, Community Prefect George said,

“As Community Prefect, part of my role is to bring Wellingborough School and the wider community together. I was delighted to do just that by organising our annual Year 2 Football Festival. It was a fantastic day of sport and friendship.”

The event also received praise from Phil Wade, Community Trust Manager at Kettering Town FC Community Trust:

“After the success of last year’s football festival, Kettering Town FC Community Trust were delighted to once more assist with this year’s event. George was influential in ensuring that the afternoon ran like clockwork, and it was brilliant to see all the Year 12 and 13 leaders showing enthusiasm and care to make the day so special and enjoyable for all the young children attending.”

A special thank you goes to Phil Wade and Rocky from Kettering Town FC Community Trust for their continued support. Their involvement helped ensure that every participant was encouraged to do their best and leave the pitch with a smile on their face.

We would also like to thank all who helped make the festival such a memorable occasion. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for future community events.
