Pupils Welcome Headmaster Simon Hawkes on GCSE Results Day
This morning, our Sixth Form Centre was filled with nervous and excited pupils as they arrived to collect their GCSE results. Our new Headmaster Simon Hawkes was welcomed this morning for his first official role at the school.
As pupils arrived, they were warmly welcomed by Mr Hawkes. This year’s results are particularly meaningful as they mark the first GCSE cohort under Mr. Hawkes leadership.
Commenting Mr Hawkes said, “It was a wonderful honour to be able to spend this morning meeting pupils and parents and sharing in their joy at securing some truly outstanding results. They deserve a great deal of credit for their hard work and dedication, and I look forward to seeing them thrive in the Sixth Form here at Wellingborough.”
Among many success stories, over a third of pupils achieved at least one grade per subject above their Year 9 predictions, highlighting the school’s commitment to individual development and academic excellence.
Results Day is long anticipated by our Senior pupils, and today we congratulate them on the many successful results they’ve achieved through hard work and dedication. As many of these students prepare to enter our Sixth Form, joined by a number of new faces, we look forward to seeing them continue to flourish. Their success reflects not only academic ability but also their determination and commitment to succeed.
We would also like to thank our parents for the vital role they have played in supporting their children throughout their studies and revision. Helping pupils remain focused, revise and inspire them towards their future goals is something we value in the school community. We know that throughout life, parents are a child’s first and most important teacher and today is a celebration of your commitment, as much as it is to academic success!
Congratulations to all our pupils on their GCSE results today. We are incredibly proud of you!
