Year 1 Great Fire of London Workshop

On Wednesday, our Year 1 pupils stepped back more than 350 years to explore one of the most significant events in British history during an exciting Great Fire of London workshop.

Through a hands-on experience, pupils journeyed to 1666 to learn about life in London. They discovered how the fire began, spread, and eventually transformed the city forever. Their wonderful historical clothes, energetic involvement, and smart enquiries brought history to life.

The workshop encouraged learning through play, allowing pupils to engage with history in a memorable and meaningful way. By acting out events, handling historical resources and discussing cause and effect, the children developed their understanding while building confidence, curiosity and teamwork skills.

It was a wonderful day full of learning, creativity and fun!
