One Prefect’s Passion and Leadership Helped Raise over £20,000 for Charity.

This past academic year, our school community came together in an extraordinary way under the guidance of our Charity Prefect, Ella, to raise an incredible £25,429.31. This is a fundraising record for Wellingborough School.
Ella took it upon herself this year to ensure that every House had the opportunity to organise their own fundraising events, tailored to their chosen charities. Cripps’ chose to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK; Garne’s supported Cransley Hospice; Marsh supported CoppaFeel; Neville supported Rainbow Trust; Parker-Steyne’s supported Doctors Without Borders; Weymouth supported Ukraine Aid; Platt’s supported Cardiac Risk in the Young; and our Chapel supported Combat Stress, the Daylight Centre, and the Marauva Trust.
My favourite event of this year was the colour run because it was such a great start to the year and allowed everyone to mix with the new pupils. I also loved interacting with all the areas of the school and behind the scenes and how much freedom I was given in the role so I was able to add my own touch on things. Charity Prefect Ella
Ella’s favourite event raised an impressive £1,400 for Cardiac Risk in the Young. Following this year’s success, the Colour Run will now become an annual fundraising tradition at Wellingborough School.

Alongside the Colour Run, a variety of other fundraising activities took place throughout the year. The Senior School Mufti Day in November raised £1,006.75 for Cardiac Risk in the Young; Platt’s 12 hour run in June raised £3,560.00 for Cardiac Risk in the Young; the Prefects Charity Ball raised £1,485.64 for Cardiac Risk in the Young; Cripps’ Overnight Row in May raised £3,175.00 for Alzeheimers Research; and Parker Steyne’s Sleepout raised £4,762 for both Doctors without Borders and the Daylight Centre Fellowship.

Following Ella’s success, we are thrilled to announce that Annabel will be stepping into the Charity Prefect role for the upcoming year.
As the person who is taking over from our previous prefect Ella, I definitely have some big shoes to fill. Although I am very excited for the next year ahead and what fun things I can bring. Annabel
With such an incredible year of fundraising behind us, we can’t wait to see what next year brings. As new ideas take shape and fresh energy fills the role, we look forward to building on this momentum.
